For their new premium product for Easter, Ferrero wanted GiantMilkCan to simulate liquid chocolate as well as to create the 3D Easter bunny and its “making of”. Imagine bursting nuts falling into place to form the Easter bunny, liquid chocolate surrounding and enclosing the nut chips to build the final product.’, ‘Unfortunately for internal reasons Ferrero could not air the spot. So we can only show you a couple of still frames.
Technical Direction of fluids was the main task with this job. We had to develop a fast preview system for directing the shots of the commercial. The previz system was done with Softimage ICE, to quickly visualise the fluids for doing an animatic of the spot. The high end simulation of the chocolate was done with the Naiad fluid solver. Within Naiad we did some RND of fluid viscosity effects. Our aim was to achieve very thin layered chocolate sculpting the Easter bunny. Depending on the distance to the surface the aggregate state had to change.
